21-yr-old man becomes world's youngest climber to scale K2

TOKYO, Japan - Tatsuya Aoki (L in this photo taken on April 15), a 21-year-old Tokai University student from Moriya, Ibaraki Prefecture, has become the world's youngest mountain climber to scale the world's second-highest peak, K2, the university said on Aug. 2. His team member, Yuka Komatsu (R in the photo), 23, from Akita, has become the first Japanese woman -- and the eighth woman in the world -- to ascend to the summit. The two reached the summit at 4:50 p.m. April 1 (local time). The photo was provided by the university. (Kyodo)
