Court dismisses libel suit over wartime killings of Chinese
TOKYO, Japan - Katsuichi Honda (L), a journalist who formerly worked for the Asahi Shimbun, speaks to reporters in Tokyo on Aug. 23 after the Tokyo District Court dismissed a damages suit filed by relatives of two executed Japanese soldiers against him, the Asahi Shimbun and Mainichi Shimbun over publications that said the two competed against each other to be first to behead 100 Chinese soldiers during wartime in 1937.
