          TOKYO, Japan - High waves hit the coast of quake-prone Kozushima Island, south of Tokyo, July 7 as a powerful typhoon heading northward toward Japan in the Pacific Ocean will likely lash the Izu Islands later in the day with heavy rain and strong winds. The typhoon may also hit Japan's main island of Honshu on the morning of July 8.
