Work begins to ship uranium-contaminated soil to U.S. for dispos
TOTTORI, Japan - The governmental Japan Nuclear Cycle Development Institute began work Aug. 29 to ship soil contaminated with uranium in a metal container from Yurihama, Tottori Prefecture, to the United States for disposal. The Supreme Court upheld lower courts' orders to remove the soil. (Kyodo)
