Tani settles for bronze at Beijing Olympics
BEIJING, China - Japan's Ryoko Tani leaves the ring after her defeat by Romania's Alina Dumitru in the semifinals of the women's 48-kilogram class judo at the Beijing Olympics on Aug. 9. Tani had to settle for a bronze medal after failing in her quest for a third consecutive Olympic title, giving Japan its first medal of the Games with an ippon victory over Russian Lyudmila Bogdanova in the match for third place.
