Their mother, aged 45, who is said to suffer from mental health problems, is considered a key suspect and is currently on the run, having fled into the surrounding area after the murders. Her car was found in Switzerland and a body was found inside. However, as of Thursday morning, there was no confirmation that it was in fact Deborah Pel, the wanted mother of the family.
