NMI Supreme Court orders Miura not be transferred to Los Angeles
SAIPAN, Northern Mariana Islands - Bruce Berline, who is serving as chief attorney on Saipan for Japanese businessman Kazuyoshi Miura, speaks to reporters on Sept. 15 after the Northern Mariana Islands Supreme Court ordered that Miura not be transferred to Los Angeles from Saipan where he has been detained since February in connection with the fatal shooting of his wife in the U.S. city in the early 1980s. A lower court ruled Sept. 12 that Miura be transferred to Los Angeles over the case. (Kyodo)
