Olympus to sell world's thinnest video scope

TOKYO, Japan - Olympus Medical Systems Corp. will introduce an otolaryngologic video scope with the world's thinnest tip in Japan and the United States on Oct. 3, the company said on Sept. 26. The video scope will have a tube tip diameter of 3.2 millimeters, 0.7 mm thinner than the existing thinnest model the company sells, enabling doctors to easily view a child's external ear canal and drum membrane.
