JVC devises technology to make thinner rear-projection TVs

TOKYO, Japan - Victor Co. of Japan Ltd. (JVC) said on Sept. 28 it has developed a technology that can substantially reduce the depth of rear-projection television sets. In the case of a 60-inch machine (in photo), the depth can be cut to 27 centimeters, about 40 percent thinner than the company's existing model, the company said. (Kyodo)
