Frenchman runs across five full continents

TOKYO, Japan - Serge Girard, a 52-year-old Frenchman, celebrates as he nears the finishing line in Tokyo on Sept. 3 of his 260-day, 19,100-km trans-Eurasia run which started in Paris on Dec. 17 last year. By completing the Eurasia run, Girard has crossed five continents -- first North America in 1997, followed by Australia, South America and Africa. (Kyodo)

Lengshuitan District of Yongzhou City has been actively boosting the development of farms for egg-laying hens in recent years. By introducing advanced equipment for hen-feeding and egg-sorting, the district aims to build a system of large-scale, automated, and well managed farms of egg-laying hens. As of now, Lengshuitan District boasts 120 of such farms, each with more than 10,000 hens in stock.
