Osaka police stage antihooligan World Cup soccer drills

OSAKA, Japan - Around 1,600 Osaka riot police hold large-scale antiterrorism and antihooligan drills on May 11 at a reclaimed area of the Osaka Bay ahead of the World Cup soccer finals to begin later this month. The Osaka police will deploy about 7,700 police personnel and tighten security for the June 12 match pitting Nigeria against England, one of the three matches at Nagai Stadium in Osaka.
