Politicians During Police Rally - Paris
French Minister of Interior Gerald Darmanin and Paris police prefect Didier Lallement meet police forces in the crowd as they gather for a police union rally in front of the Assemblee Nationale ( french National Assembly ) in Paris on May 19, 2021, to demand harsher punishment for attacks against their own, two weeks after an officer was shot dead while investigating drug deals. Police unions called for the gathering to push for better protection and less tolerance towards violence against officers, a year ahead of a presidential election in which security issues will be a key topic.
