La Samaritaine Reopens Its Doors On 19 June
A picture, taken in Paris, France on June 1, 2021, showing the Samaritaine Store. Closed since 2005, La Samaritaine reopens its doors on 19 June, bringing together under its glass roof a department store, a luxury hotel, offices, social housing and a crèche. In all, the project will have cost its owner, LVMH, 750 million. The Samaritaine was closed sixteen years ago for safety reasons, due to its dilapidation. The famous shop on Rue de Rivoli in Paris was due to reopen in 2020 for its 150th anniversary. But the pandemic has further delayed the project led by LVMH, the majority shareholder of the Samaritaine since 2001. Photo by Patrice Pierrot/Avenir Pictures/ABACAPRESS.COM
