The garbage collectors of the sea - Algiers
★On the beach of Tamentfoust, not far from the Algerian capital, the "garbage collectors of the sea" threw themselves into the water in diving equipment to clean the seabed of all kinds of detritus, in Algiers, Algeria, on June 26, 2021. The collection was surprising: The car or truck tires, boots, plastic or glass bottles, a car battery, clothes Other volunteers cleared rocky areas and creeks. The operation is organized by the association Recifs (RESEARCH, Information, Underwater Training) - both a diving school and an environmental protection organization - in partnership with the Algerian radio and the national waste agency (AND).
