Novelist, Buddhist nun Setouchi dies at 99
File photo taken in July 1972 shows Japanese novelist Harumi Setouchi giving an interview in Tokyo. Setouchi, who later became a Buddhist nun and changed her first name to Jakucho while pursuing a writing career, died of heart failure on Nov. 9, 2021, at age 99. She was also known for her active involvement in anti-war and anti-nuclear movements.
