Japan not to send gov't officials to Beijing Olympics
Combined file photo shows (from L) Seiko Hashimoto, president of the Tokyo Olympic and Paralympic organizing committee, Yasuhiro Yamashita, head of the Japanese Olympic Committee, and Kazuyuki Mori, head of the Japanese Paralympic Committee. Japan plans to send the three to the 2022 Beijing Winter Olympics while refraining from sending a government delegation to the games, a decision seen as in line with a U.S.-led diplomatic boycott of the sporting spectacle over China's human rights record.
