Libyan Prime Minister Abdul-Hamid Dbeibah on Wednesday stressed the importance of having a constitution to achieve stability in Libya.
Dbeibah made the remarks during a meeting with some parliamentary candidates in Tripoli, according to a statement issued by the government's information office.
He also stressed the need to hold elections that "put an end to all the current political bodies," said the statement.
Dbeibah announced a plan on Monday to hold general elections in June.
The House of Representatives (parliament) recently voted to appoint Fathi Bashagha, the former Interior Minister, as the new Prime Minister, replacing Dbeibah.
However, Dbeibah said he will remain in office and will only hand over office to an elected government.
