STORYLINE:
Egypt's Trade and Industry Minister Nevine Gamea announced Thursday to ban the export of lentils, pasta, fava beans, flour and wheat for three months as of March 11.
The minister referred that the trade exchange with each of Russia and Ukraine will submit to the current changes which may result from the Russian military operation. She said the current conflict has yet to affect Egypt thanks to its large stockpile of essential food items.
The Russian operation in Ukraine that started about two weeks ago has caused a surge in the prices of commodities and petroleum products worldwide.
