Budapest Waterworks company celebrates the World Water Day with public visits of their underground water reservoir where visitors can get a glimpse into the operations of the facility that provides a large portion of the city with clean drinking water. Gellert Hill water reservoir was built in 1904 and expanded in 1974 and 1980 to the current capacity that provides the majority of Budapest's drinkable tap water.
