STORYLINE:
The town of Sanlucar de Barrameda in the south west corner of Spain is the Spanish gastronomy capital for 2022 offering its range of traditional produce, which mixes the flavor of the sea to that of sherry wine.
Sanlucar has a long history and in 1519, Ferdinand Magallanes sailed from the port with five ships - one of which, the Nao Victoria, would return to the same port in 1522 having completed the first circumnavigation of the world.
Magallanes never made it back home, but the trip has still gone down in history and the 500th anniversary of the Nao Victoria's return offers Sanlucar a special opportunity to highlight its most famous products.
