STORYLINE:
It's the season for herdsmen in Wulate Middle Banner, north China's Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, to lasso and tame horses.
Horse lassoing is a tradition that requires years of skillful practice.
On the grassland, every herdsman holds a 3-meter-long uurga (Mongolia-style lasso) in their hands. When they catch up with the galloping horse, they quickly take out uurga, wrap the rope around the neck of the galloping horse, and then tighten the rope until the spirited horse is exhausted.
The riders would target the strongest horse to lasso. Once the target is selected, they will whip to speed up and catch up with the target. The riders must seize the opportunity. In a flash, the lasso on uurga wrapped the horse's neck, and the wild horse would soon be tamed.
