The drill was set on a 7,455-meter-long cableway on Tianmen Mountain, one of China's steepest cableways with a difference in height of 1,279 meters, which transports more than 4 million tourists every year. Rescuers simulated the scenario in which a cable in the air snapped and trapped the "tourists" inside the tram cabins. During the drill, rescuers deployed vertical rescue to crawl into the cabin and evacuate the trapped ones by a rope from the cabin's bottom door.
