Artists from 43 troupes who are participating in this year's festival have performed at the opening ceremony. This year, the festival also brought back its traditional troupe parade at El-Moez Street on Sunday, attracting a large number of spectators. The festival, which will last until May 28, is held under the auspices of the Egyptian Culture Ministry. The festival started in 2009 with the aim of sending a message of peace through art.
