Preparation is under way to land the sunken tour boat Kazu I covered with a blue tarpaulin at the port of Abashiri, Hokkaido, on May 31, 2022. The tour boat was salvaged after going missing in late April with 26 people aboard during a cruise around the Shiretoko Peninsula on the northernmost main Japanese island, and will be examined to determine the cause of the deadly incident.
