Stifling hot winds kept their grip on Tunisia on Saturday while temperatures rose rapidly across the country.
The Sirocco Blow from the Libyan desert affected Tunisia and some southern European countries from south to north.
The highest temperature forecast in Tunis on Saturday rose to 42 degrees Celsius, which was 7-12 degrees higher than the average temperature during the same period.
Affected by the heat waves, very few pedestrians and traffic were seen on the road and some restaurants and shops were also closed.
In August 2021, the highest temperature in the capital Tunis reached 48 degrees Celsius, the highest since 1999.
