Kurdish Textile and Ethnographic Museum is located on the main street in the historic Erbil Citadel. Its building is distinguished by its ancient architectural design. The museum includes four halls, displaying articles for daily use, models of tools and paintings depicting ancient life in Kurdistan. The museum preserves many types of Kurdish men's hats woven from wool. Each hat represents one of the Kurdish tribes scattered throughout Kurdistan. The museum was opened in 2004.
