Yumai, once China's smallest township, is located at the southern foot of the Himalayas in China's Tibet near the border with India.
At an altitude of 3,500 meters, the township has the beautiful scenery of semitropical ecological environment.
With improved transportation and infrastructure, the remote village has taken on a new look.
The once three-person township is home to over 200 people and oversees two villages.
In 2021, the per capita annual income of the township reached nearly 40,000 yuan (6,347 U.S. dollars).
