Tunisian Industry, Mines and Energy Ministry stated on Wednesday that Tunisia has used the strategic reserve of refined oil products to meet domestic demand because of the high oil prices in the international market.
The ministry said in a statement that due to the poor financial situation in Tunisia as well as the oil price which remained high for several months, the government has used the strategic reserve of refined oil products to supply the domestic market.
It added that Tunisia's daily output of domestic refined oil products is about 35,000 tons, while the domestic market needs 90,000 tons of refined oil every day. The country has to import 55,000 tons of refined oil each day to meet the domestic needs.
