STORYLINE:
For the second year in a row, Muayyad Abbas, a local Palestinian farmer from Faqqu'a town, northeast of Jenin, fears he might be losing the prickly pear harvest season, due to the outbreak of the "cochineal bug" that is killing his produce.
The 47-year-old father of three told Xinhua that he used to rely on the profits he earns from selling those fruits that he has been growing on his four-dunum land. It is meant to be his main income during the summer season.
