STORYLINE:
Clashes between the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC) army and rebels of the March 23 Movement (M23) continued in Rutshuru territory, in northeastern DRC, over the past few days, according to a report released Wednesday by the UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs.
Since July 1, about 2,700 people have reportedly fled their homes to settle in Rutshuru center, Kiwanja and villages between Kalengera and Rumangabo, joining more than 160,000 people displaced across Rutshuru and Nyiragongo territories since March 2022.
