STORYLINE:
Thousands of Israeli far-right settlers affiliated with the Nachala settler organization attempted to set up several new outposts across the West Bank on Wednesday.
Israeli Army and police deployed checkpoints to block them and confiscated some equipment of them.
According to Israeli and Palestinian estimates, about 650,000 Israeli settlers live in 164 settlements and 124 outposts in the West Bank and East Jerusalem.
Most of the international community considers the expansion of the settlements a violation of international law. So-called settlement "outposts" are also illegal under Israeli law.
