Heritage of an old warrior tradition, the "Tbourida," Moroccan equestrian art, also known as "fantasia," is no longer a male tradition.
In the town of Mohamadia, six kilometers south of the Moroccan capital Rabat, summer festivities kicked off.
This year, a group of female riders with their chief Amal participate in these festivities in Mohamadia. They are accepted, applauded, and integrated into this tradition which has remained for several centuries masculine par excellence.
Very popular in the countryside, this spectacular cavalry charge which ends in a synchronized shot is associated with summer festivities and especially after the harvest season.
Each year, thousands of enthusiastic spectators attend these grandiose shows during the most important equestrian festival in the country.
