As the largest crude oil production increase project under construction in Bohai Oilfield, Kenli 6-1 oilfield is the first large-scale oilfield of 100 million tons discovered by exploration in the northern part of Laizhou Bay in the Bohai Sea. The oilfield is expected to reach its peak production of about 4,000 barrels of crude oil per day in 2022. Its parent company China National Offshore Oil Corporation, headquartered in Beijing, is the country's largest producer of offshore crude oil and natural gas.
