(220812) -- LAMPANG, Aug. 12, 2022 (Xinhua) -- Soraida Salwala introduces prosthetic legs made for elephants at the "Friends of the Asian Elephant" elephant hospital in Lampang, Thailand, on Aug. 6, 2022. Deep in the forest of Lampang province in northern Thailand, the hospital, named Friends of the Asian Elephant (FAE), is the first hospital in the world dedicated to treating injured elephants. Since its establishment in 1993, the hospital has saved more than 5,000 elephants with illnesses varying from diarrhoea to eye diseases and injuries through car accidents or mine explosions.
