STORYLINE:
Low emission zones have come into force in several cities in France such as Marseille, Rouen and Toulouse since Thursday.
The move means that any vehicle with a Crit'Air sticker greater than 3 will no longer be able to drive in these cities.
The Crit'Air sticker makes it possible to evaluate the level of pollution of each vehicle with a number ranging from 1 (the least polluting) to 5 (the most polluting). This sticker must be affixed to the windshield of the car.
On Dec. 31, 2024, all French cities with more than 150,000 inhabitants must apply it.
