STORYLINE:
Zangadiluly Nosserbek, a 42-year-old Kazakh, is pursuing his doctoral degree in history in a university in northwestern Chinese city of Xi'an.
Founded about 3,100 years ago, Xi'an served as the capital for 13 dynasties in Chinese history. It was also the beginning of Zhang Qian's journey to Western regions via Central Asia in the Western Han Dynasty (202 BC-25 AD), with his envoy which eventually led to the opening of the Silk Road.
The history of the ancient Silk Road and bilateral exchanges in trade and culture between China and Kazakhstan via the Silk Road are the favourite subjects of Nosserbek's study.
