STORYLINE:
Tuesday marks this year's Seniors' Day in China, an occasion to honor and send regards to the country's elderly. It is also known as the Double Ninth Festival, which falls on the ninth day of the ninth lunar month.
In Yangjiayu, a village in north China's Tianjin Municipality, the "quilt airing" competition has been held every year ahead of the Double Ninth Festival since 2009.
The activity encourages young people to air seniors' quilts to check whether the quilts are clean and comfortable, as well as reminding young people of taking more care of the elderly.
