The 41st Olympic Council of Asia (OCA) General Assembly was held Tuesday in Phnom Penh, Cambodia, to discuss plans and preparations for Asian Games events in the coming years.
Addressing the opening ceremony, Cambodian Prime Minister Samdech Techo Hun Sen said it was an honor for Cambodia to host such an important meeting.
Cambodia will be the host of the 32nd Southeast Asian (SEA) Games and Para Games to be held in May 2023.
Hun Sen said the sports sector plays a vital role in diplomacy and international relations.
OCA acting president Raja Randhir Singh mentioned the one-year countdown for the 19th Asian Games in Hangzhou, capital of east China's Zhejiang Province, which will be held from September 23 to October 8, 2023, after a one-year postponement.
