STORYLINE:
A campaign entitled "Our Beloved Children Read" was launched Wednesday in Erbil, the capital of Iraqi Kurdistan, with the aim of urging school children to read, learn about diverse cultures, and acquire knowledge in science.
More than 80 students from three schools in Erbil participated in activities on the first day of the campaign. The campaign will continue for 10 days, and it is expected that more than 10,000 students will benefit from the campaign.
The Ministry of Education in the Kurdistan Regional Government and the General Directorate of Health in Erbil Governorate oversee this campaign in cooperation with the Kurdistan Pediatricians Association, the School Health Department and the Public Library in Erbil.
