The Kenyan government has called for a review of areas perennially affected by drought cycles in the country.
Kenyan Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua made the remarks at a meeting with development partners, calling for urgent measures to be focused within sub-counties and wards levels across the country.
According to the United Nations, currently, over 4.3 million Kenyans are faced with starvation, a figure that will soon hit five million.
Kenya is among the Horn of African countries grappling with a prolonged dry spell that has escalated hunger, malnutrition and loss of livelihoods among subsistence farmers and herders.
