STORYLINE:
Russia's gross domestic product (GDP) will decline 3-3.5 percent in 2022, the country's central bank forecasted in a statement on Friday.
The GDP will decrease 1-4 percent in 2023, but the Russian economy will start to grow in the second half of that year, and the GDP will expand 1.5-2.5 percent annually in 2024-2025, the bank said.
It noted that inflation in Russia continued to slow down gradually, with growth in consumer prices decelerating to 13.7 percent in annual terms in September from 14.3 percent in August.
Given the weakened inflation pressure, the central bank decided to keep the key interest rate at 7.5 percent per annum.
