STORYLINE:
The first phase of a power storage utility with a capacity of 400 MWh was put into operation in northeast China's Dalian on Sunday.
According to the Dalian Institute of Chemical Physics (DICP) under the Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS), the capacity of the Dalian Concurrent Energy Storage Power Station was designed to meet the electricity demand of some 200,000 residents per day and will be doubled to 800 MWh in the future.
