Despite restrictions imposed by the Indian federal government in May, India's wheat exports more than doubled to 1.48 billion U.S. dollars during April-September this year, said the official data released on Wednesday.
According to the data, wheat exports registered an increase of 136 percent during the second quarter (July-September) of the current fiscal year.
"Wheat export rose to 1.48 billion U.S. dollars in April-September 2022, from 630 million U.S. dollars in April-September 2021," said an official statement issued by the Ministry of Commerce and Industry.
