A severe drought in Kenya following three consecutive failed rainy seasons has posed threats to the wildlife survival. Animals in the region are dying from lack of water and food.
Edwin Wanyonyi, director at the Kenya Wildlife Service (KWS), said at the ongoing Global Wildlife Program (GWP) annual conference in Nairobi that the drought may lead to more acute human-wildlife conflicts if it persists.
