The 14th Meeting of the Conference of the Contracting Parties to the Ramsar Convention on Wetlands (COP14) is now underway in China's Wuhan and Switzerland's Geneva.
In June this year, Wuhan was recognized as an "International Wetland City."
Wuhan sits at the confluence of the Yangtze River and its longest tributary the Han River.
The city boasts 165 rivers and 166 lakes, with a total wetland area of 1,624 square km, accounting for 18.9 percent of the city's area.
