STORYLINE:
Zhang Lihua, a farmer living in Majingzi Village, Qian'an City of north China's Hebei Province, has devoted himself to protecting the Great Wall for 12 years.
The village nestles snugly near a section of the Great Wall built during the Ming Dynasty (1368-1644).
In 2010, Zhang became a ranger, who is in charge of patrolling and protecting a 3-km-long section of the Great Wall.
Since then, he patrolled the Great Wall every two to three days while clearing rubbish and weeds, checking bricks, and reminding tourists and herdsmen to preserve the Great Wall.
