Assistant Secretary-General of the Arab League Hossam Zaki on Tuesday called for help from Arabic and international organizations for drought-hit Somalia.
According to the UN, the crippling drought in Somalia has affected at least 7.8 million people, including more than one million displaced from their homes in search of water, food and pasture.

"Somalia faces a very severe drought crisis, which is the worst one that hit the country in several decades. There is a rainfall scarcity; there hasn't been rainfall in Somalia for about five years, which caused a dangerous situation for the Somali people who almost depend upon the rainfall."
