Turkish Defense Minister Hulusi Akar said on Wednesday that the country has launched air and ground attacks in northern Syria and northern Iraq, hitting 471 targets and neutralizing 254 "terrorists."
Semi-official news outlet Anadolu Agency quoted Akar as saying that "The operation continues with punishing fires carried out by air and ground fire support vehicles."
An aerial operation was mounted on Sunday against the Kurdish People's Protection Units (YPG) in northern Syria and the Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK) in northern Iraq.
The aerial operation, dubbed "Operation Claw-Sword," was launched after a bomb explosion in Türkiye's largest city Istanbul on Nov. 13 that killed at least six people and injured another 81.
