STORYLINE:
Five larvae of scolopendra galapagoensis, a centipede species, were seized by Haikou Customs in south China's Hainan Province.
The 15 to 20-centimeter-long larvae were found in an inbound mail declared as "plastic box samples."
Scolopendra galapagoensis is one of the largest centipede species known in the world. It can usually grow to 30 to 40 centimetres long, while largest ones can reach 44 to 46 centimetres.
