Three local residents were successfully rescued from blizzard-hit mountainous region by a bulldozer and rescuers on Nov. 23 in Altay City, northwest China's Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region.
Altay has been suffering from blizzards recently, with snow accumulating to over 1 meter deep in mountainous regions. The three residents were trapped on the road buried by heavy snow while driving to transport daily necessities.
Upon receiving emergency calls, police officers immediately contacted local authorities to send a bulldozer to the accident site. After shovelled snows for more than 10 hours over 40 km, the bulldozer successfully saved the trapped residents, turning the once deadly road into a passage of life.
